post from the prairie: hmmm, well we had a fun workshop at Ed's the last week of December. I amazed myself because I got up early every morning and made breakfast for everyone!!!AND I made lunch and dinner too. whew. I enjoyed cooking for everyone, and they were an appreciative audience. They even ate their fruit and veggies.

Ray and Susan came from Santa Barbara; Keisu, Devyn and Opal came from Forestville; and Joseph came from San Rafael. It was a perfect amount and mix of people. Ray and Susan camped and the boys stayed on the trampoline. Keisu slept out there one night, but she wisely moved indoors. We were expecting about 10 more, what would I have done then??

One of these days I will go to Amil and Anne's house and make my own knife and do some gourd crafting, if we don't have another workshop soon. The most challenging was being present for the slaughter of our pig. She grew up down the road eating maize and milk. I do appreciate that all of us, especially the boys, now know a little more of what is involved in supporting the meat eater lifestyle.
