road warrior(ess), goddess of the road : ) ha! (me)

hola, here in Cheyenne at a Best Western across from the railroad, The Hitching Post. Very Wyominging here : ) Please forgive me as I have recently consumed two glasses of wine from a bottle I bought at the drive-through liquor store here at the hote. I may slur in my typing. I'm on my way to Fort Yates in North Dakota to visit a friend that I found while in Italy. Linda Jones, she has the same b-day as me and is also born in the Chinese year of the Ox. From there I plan to visit Minnesota and maybes make it to the canoe races if I'm lucky.

I left Bailey this afternoon with plans to make it to Rapid City SD tonight, but I got a little lazy after I hit Cheyenne. Maybe I'll explore a little tomorrow. I feel like I have to have steak and potatoes for dinner tonight. I'm posting some pictures from Colorado and from driving after I post this.

I stayed with Bryan and Amy outside of Bailey, Colorado, for about a week I guess. While there I drank some pretty durned good coffee....had my own room with a down comforter...watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy (and the bonus stuff on the DVD), went to a pretty Alpine lake, but mostly, I got to spend time with my little family (most important of all things). Ivan (Bryan and Amy's son) learned how to say my name, dom i eek, yesterday. I hope he remembers it the next time I see him. He's two and very much a Colorado boy. I have formed a Colorado stereotype (sorry) and Ivan meets all of the criteria: Blond, tall, wears a hat, likes being outside, and rides in a Subaru.

Angel has weathered the storm of ticks that found her so attractive in Flagstaff. Dozens and dozens of little fat, black ticks. Ugh. We're back to being tickless now, whew. It got a little creepy and I took her to the vet. We had some major grooming going on. I started feeling like a chimpanzee. The only good thing was that the ticks didn't like people.

Jerry Rice has retired and we get to see how well our President cares for us and is protecting us. The two big news stories while I've been tucked away safely in the mountains. Gas was $3.09 in Conifer, CO, and is $2.75 a gallon here in Cheyenne.

I'm driving to Winnsconsin after ND and MN to visit Trina and her new beautiful house (and of course her dogg, Jezebel). After my visit with Trina, I'm off to Roswell, GA, to bother the Bastidases for a couple of weeks, or until they kick me out.

...that's it for now. Yeehaw!
